Over these years we have provided world class venues and platforms for developing and seasoned filmmakers who seek critical feedback for their independent work. We also aim to connect audiences with emerging talent through thoughtful curation. QCFFNJ has pledged to create ongoing programming that promotes career education and development and advancement for all filmmakers, in an effort to empower the artists, creatives storytellers and technicians.  Our mission is to also provide underrepresented filmmakers of all experience levels with crucial resources, and continued opportunities to share their vision and voices.

The festival also offers youth mentoring and internships for college level youth and area high school students. The Future Filmmakers program, an afterschool film & tv production training program hosted by our nonprofit team,  Queen City Film & Television Workshop,  has afforded dozens of local youth access to the tools of film production. Through hands on experiences, lecture and small group interaction with accomplished industry professionals. We also have awarded thousands of dollars to area graduating seniors interested in film & television through the Ida P. Smith Film Fund Scholarship Award.
