Home is more than just a place. It’s the people who love us, the spaces that support and celebrate us, and the rituals that shape who we are and who we become. You don’t have to attend an HBCU or be a member of one of the Divine 9 to experience the sense of belonging and pride that comes from being part of a community that feels like family, but it can be undeniably transformative. These films highlight the camaraderie and joy of returning to campus to reconnect and forge new memories and the rich legacy of a sisterhood that transcends generations. Their influence shapes a story we can all see ourselves in - one that honors the common threads that tie our lives together, celebrates how much stronger we are together, and captures that warm, fulfilling feeling of truly belonging.

There is nothing like an HBCU Homecoming! If you had to describe, it's probably the best combination of a family reunion, fashion show, concert, day party, music festival, week-long church revival (I'm talking Men's Day, Church Anniversary and Women's Auxiliary Usher Board #9 New Member's Celebration, rolled into one), oh and there is a football game too. If that wasn't enough, we all have our own reasons and, sometimes very different, for why we come back to our beloved University, but still share the need to get ready, in the true Hampton spirit! Homecoming Ready is a short film/docu-series with a dedicated focus to Game Day preparations by the Hampton Pirates Football Team, for the Homecoming Game! The larger and more enticing story is the Homecoming preparation rituals undertaken by alumni, students and staff, as we all get ready, but not just ready...Homecoming Ready!

Greater Than Ourselves: The Legacy of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, tells the story of how these seven Black, female, school teachers established one of the nation's premier social service organizations, in America's heartland, during one of the most tumultuous periods for race relations in American history. The film is a hybrid documentary, taking us from the historical beginnings of the sorority in 1922, through to the organization's celebration of their 100 year Centennial celebration.
